Torque Arm Slider Installation PDF Print E-mail
1. Torque Arm Photo 1First, ensure that the slider heim (BRP 424) is the proper length. It should be 2 1/4" from the center of the heim to the end of the threads. This is very important as it sets the pinion angle. If the heim came as part of a kit purchased from Bicknell Racing Products, it will be cut to the proper length. If it was not purchased from Bicknell Racing Products, we cannot be responsible for an improper length heim.
2. Torque Arm Photo 1Next, be sure the torque arm rubbers are the correct length. For a dry slick track, the torque arm rubbers can be cut down to as much as 1 1/8". For a heavy track, you may be better to leave the rubbers to their shipped length. Be sure to make the rubbers no less than 1 1/8" as the rubbers will not have any compression if they are too short.
3. Prior to installation, ensure the slider rods (BRP 421) will slide with ease into the chassis. If they don't, clean the slugs out with a drill or a die grinder. If the slugs are a little snug it is okay, it just be harder to take them out if you ever have to.
4. Torque Arm Photo 3Install the rods, safety locks, and the aluminum slider plate. Be sure slider plate (BRP 418) slides through entire length of slider. Make sure the grease fittings face the bottom of the chassis.
5. Next, Install the heim. Be sure the steel sleeve goes between the 2 washers. Also be sure the bolt tightens all the way up.
